The flame of knowledge in a stylized torch. This is my favorite kind of logo. Simple and elegant.

The people from the library contacted me and needed a logo quickly for a brochure they were about to print. Forgoing my usual numerous design explorations, I said, if you trust my judgment and experience, I will come up with something that we will both like. They agreed and you see above a logo that was designed in about 3 hours. Plus 35 years.

The Placitas Community Library gratefully acknowledges Gary Priester for volunteering his time and talent to create, gift our logo, and maintain our website. We are absolutely delighted with Gary’s design of a lighted candle with the base forming a giant P for Placitas. He couldn’t have done a better job in coming up with a symbol representing the light of knowledge from the written word and tying in Placitas as the place where it's happening. It’s just perfect! Gary didn’t stop there, he also continues to keep the library’s website up and running. Gary sets the model for the rest of us to follow in establishing a library in Placitas.
