The Sandoval Signpost is a community newspaper serving a large and diverse area just north of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Because New Mexico is a bandwidth challenged area and because many residents of the area have older and slower equipment, the site had to load quickly and be easy to navigate.
To make the website unique from the monthly paper version and to give readers a reason to visit the website, we added additional content that changes every other week including a Featured Artist Gallery, a Sound Off page where visitors can send instant Letters to the Editor and have them published the same day, two humor columns and more.
"As the publishers of the local newspaper for a growing community in New Mexico, we knew the day would come that we'd have to invest in a Web site. Before we found Gary Priester, we got quotes and input from two other Web designers, both of whom made the production of a web site sound incredibly confusing, difficult, and offered us options that we weren't sure we needed. One designer put together a mock web site for us that was busy, clunky, and expensive.
Thank goodness our path then led us to hire Gary as our web site designer and manager. Our new web site is clean, well organized, and fun. Many people have commented on how "cool" our web site looks, how easy it is to get around in, and that they love the 3-dimensional-looking photographs.
Thanks to Gary's suggestions, we have added a monthly Web poll question, a section featuring local fine artists, a hit counter, and community input stories. Through his own initiative, he has linked our web site to other high traffic sites in the state.
Best of all, it has been a pleasure to work with Gary, who sorts through our many monthly questions, and answers each one methodically and completely. He is someone we can count on to bring us the best in web technology and get the job done on time every month. We couldn't be happier to find such a talented person to add to our company staff."
